Overview of Call Of Duty Black Ops

Call Of Duty Black Ops will be released November 9, 2010 and is rated M for mature.  It is available for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and a DS version.

Black Ops is a first-person shooter. This means the player assumes the role of a foot soldier so they has access to various firearms.  Two firearms can be carried at a time, a primary weapon and a secondary weapon.  The player also has explosives such as grenades and other equipment for use. When players are close enough to an enemy, they can perform a melee attack that will instantly kill the enemy.

A character can be positioned in one of the three stances: standing, crouching, or prone; each of these positions affects the character's speed of movement and the accuracy of their weapon. The player can directly dive prone from a standing position. The player can momentarily run faster before getting tired. When the character has taken damage, the screen turns red. Health can regenerate by avoiding damage. When the character is within the blast radius of a live grenade, a marker indicates the direction of the grenade, helping the player to either flee or throw it back.

In Black Ops there will be new weapons such as crossbows and new kill streaks like piloting a hind helicopter.

Treyarch are the developers of Black Ops.  Treyarch has also made Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call Of Duty 3, and Call Of Duty: World At War.
